What Happened To Belle Delphine?

Born on October 23, 1999, Mary-Belle Kirschner, better known as Belle Delphine, grew up in South Africa before moving to the UK at the age of 9.

Belle’s entry into the digital world began with her posting fashion and makeup photos on Facebook, a foreshadowing of the internet persona she would later adopt.

The Rise

Belle Delphine’s ascent can be credited to her savvy understanding of internet culture and her unique brand of online content creation. By 2018, Belle had amassed a significant following on Instagram, primarily for her “ahegao” expressions, a facial expression popular in Japanese anime.

Here’s a snapshot of her growth on Instagram:

Year Instagram Followers (millions)
2016 0.2
2017 0.5
2018 1.2

Belle’s content often straddled the line between cheeky and controversial.

One of her most notable moments was when she tricked her followers into thinking she would create content on an adult site if her post received one million likes (which it did), only to upload innocent, non-explicit videos.

It was such antics that drew attention and criticism in equal measures.

The Peak of Controversy

In July 2019, Belle Delphine courted significant controversy by introducing “GamerGirl Bath Water,” a product she claimed was her used bath water. Each jar was priced at $30, a high price that nonetheless didn’t dissuade her ardent fans. The product description cheekily read, “Bottled while I’m playing in the bath. This really is bath water.”

The move was met with amusement, disdain, and incredulity from different quarters. Yet, it was a demonstration of the strength and loyalty of her fanbase that the bath water sold out in just three days after the announcement.

While Belle Delphine did not officially disclose the total number of jars sold or the revenues made from this venture, we can make a rough estimation.

If we assume she had a limited stock of 500 jars, she would have made approximately $15,000 in just a few days from this stunt alone.

Product Price Estimated Quantity Sold Estimated Revenue
GamerGirl Bath Water $30 500 (estimation) $15,000

The incident attracted widespread media attention, even reaching mainstream news outlets. Many commentators criticized her for exploiting impressionable fans and encouraging unhealthy idolization behaviors.

The event also attracted the attention of social platforms that host her content, leading to increased scrutiny and moderation of her activities.

This event, while profitable and successful in garnering attention, also started a chain of events that led to Belle’s eventual removal from Instagram later in 2019.

Instagram’s community guidelines prohibit “content that… exploits people,” which Belle’s bathwater stunt was arguably close to breaching.

In simpler terms, Belle did something very unusual and somewhat silly. She sold her bath water and people actually bought it. However, while she made a lot of money from it, it also made some people very upset. These people reported her, and eventually, her Instagram account, which she used to talk to her fans, was closed.

This incident serves as an important lesson in understanding the balance between creating engaging content and respecting community guidelines on various platforms.

The Downfall

In late 2019, Belle’s Instagram account, which had amassed over 4 million followers, was reported for nudity or pornography and was taken down. This event marked the beginning of a decline in her public presence, as her primary platform for interaction and monetization had been removed.

The Comeback and Ongoing Controversy

After Belle’s Instagram account was deleted in 2019, she largely stayed out of the public eye for the better part of 2020, marking a quiet period in her career.

However, in June of that year, she surprised her followers by announcing on Twitter that she was joining OnlyFans, an online platform known for its adult content.

OnlyFans, a subscription-based service, allowed creators to earn money directly from their fans on a monthly basis. Creators often offered a range of content, from personal updates to more explicit adult content.

Belle’s decision to join OnlyFans marked a significant pivot from her earlier content, which, while often risqué and suggestive, had primarily been shared on more mainstream platforms like Instagram and YouTube.

The response to Belle’s OnlyFans announcement was mixed. Some fans welcomed her return to the digital world, subscribing to her OnlyFans content and supporting her new direction. However, others were critical of the move, expressing discomfort with the more explicit content and the subscription fee associated with viewing it.

Belle’s decision was profitable. She quickly became one of the top creators on OnlyFans, earning thousands of dollars per month, though specific earnings are not publicly available.

Then, in December 2020, Belle faced another setback. YouTube terminated her channel, which had over 1.79 million subscribers, for violating its sexual content policies. Belle’s YouTube content had primarily been non-explicit, often featuring her engaging in various activities and stunts. But her recent shift to more explicit content on OnlyFans seemed to have crossed the line for YouTube’s policy enforcement.

However, the termination was not permanent. Following a widespread outcry from her fans, including a petition that garnered thousands of signatures, YouTube reinstated her channel. The incident, however, highlighted the fine line content creators like Belle tread in balancing edgy, attention-grabbing content with adherence to platform policies.

So, in simpler terms, Belle returned to the internet after a long break and started making more adult content on a new site, OnlyFans. While some people were happy about her return, others were not so comfortable with her new content.

Then, her YouTube channel was closed because YouTube thought she broke some rules. But after her fans complained a lot, YouTube opened her channel again. Belle’s story during this period shows that what someone posts online can get them in trouble, but it can also make them lots of money if done correctly.

What Happened To Belle Delphine?

The Lesson

The story of Belle Delphine is a whirlwind of controversy, internet culture, and digital entrepreneurship. She is a testament to the power and volatility of internet fame, illustrating both its potential for success and the risks of controversy.

To put it in simple terms, imagine you become really famous at school for doing funny, silly, and sometimes controversial things. Some kids find it entertaining, but the teachers (like Instagram and YouTube) don’t approve and punish you for it. But you’re smart, you find other ways to entertain and continue to be famous, even though you sometimes get in trouble. That’s kind of what happened to Belle Delphine.

In the end, Belle’s story shows us that navigating the digital world requires not just creativity, but also a strong understanding of platform rules, audience desires, and the potential implications of controversial actions.

Does Location Matter on YouTube? Exploring Geographic Impact on Success

In the age of globalization, YouTube has emerged as a popular platform for content creators and audiences worldwide.

With over 2 billion logged-in monthly users, it’s no wonder that people from all corners of the globe are turning to YouTube for entertainment, information, and inspiration.

However, does location play a significant role in the success of a YouTube channel? Short Answer – Location impacts YouTube’s algorithm and audience engagement, but success isn’t limited by geography. By creating globally appealing content, collaborating with international creators, and using social media for promotion, YouTubers can reach audiences worldwide and overcome location barriers.

This blog post delves into the impact of geographic location on YouTube, providing interesting statistics, insights, and examples.

The Influence of Location on YouTube’s Algorithm

YouTube’s algorithm is designed to personalize content recommendations based on user preferences, watch history, and location.

This means that users are more likely to be shown videos in their native language and videos that are popular within their region.

YouTube’s localization features

YouTube has 100+ localized versions of the platform, making it easier for users to discover content that’s relevant to their region. These localized versions feature trending videos and recommendations tailored to the specific country or region.

Example: Regional differences in trending videos

Trending videos in the United States may differ from those in Japan or India, reflecting the diverse interests of audiences in each country. This localization helps users connect with content that resonates with their culture and interests.

Search preferences based on region

YouTube’s search algorithm also takes location into account, prioritizing videos that are more relevant to users’ regions. This can impact visibility for creators targeting a global audience, as their content may not appear as prominently in search results for users in other countries.

Case study: Local vs. international search results

For example, a user searching for cooking tutorials in India may be shown more videos from Indian creators, while a user in the United States may see more videos from American creators. This can create challenges for creators looking to reach a broader, international audience.

Geographic Distribution of YouTube Users

Top 10 Countries by YouTube Users (As of 2021)

Rank Country Number of Users
1 United States 197 million
2 India 190 million
3 Brazil 85 million
4 Japan 67 million
5 Russia 62 million
6 Indonesia 61 million
7 Mexico 49 million
8 United Kingdom 47 million
9 Turkey 37 million
10 South Korea 37 million

Average Watch Time by Country (As of 2021)

Country Average Watch Time (Minutes)
United States 40.0
India 29.1
Brazil 35.3
Japan 27.4
Russia 32.8

Difficulty gaining traction?

Creators from smaller markets or countries with lower YouTube usage may face challenges in gaining traction, as they have a smaller potential audience to begin with.

This can make it difficult to achieve the same level of success as creators from larger markets.

Limited local sponsorship opportunities

Additionally, creators in smaller markets may have fewer opportunities for local sponsorships and brand deals,  as companies may be more likely to invest in creators with a larger audience reach. This can limit the potential revenue streams for these creators.

Success Stories: YouTubers Who Defied Geographic Boundaries

Its not all doom and gloom, here is some examples of international success from creators all over the globe.

Germán Garmendia, known as JuegaGerman, is a Chilean YouTuber who has amassed over 42 million subscribers with his engaging gaming videos and humorous content. Tips for Overcoming Location Barriers

There is some foundation work you can do to broaden your appeal internationally if you are looking to expand beyond your inital location.

Language considerations

To reach a broader audience, consider creating content in English or other widely-spoken languages. Including subtitles or translations can also help make your content more accessible to international viewers.

Universal themes and formats

Focus on themes and formats that have universal appeal, such as comedy, storytelling, or how-to tutorials. This can help your content resonate with viewers from different cultures and backgrounds.

Collaborations with international creators

If you are looking to grow faster in diferent locations, consider tapping into other peoples audiences with collabs.

Benefits of cross-promotion

Collaborating with creators from other countries can help you tap into new audiences and increase your visibility. Cross-promotion through collaborations can introduce your content to viewers who may not have discovered it otherwise.

Example: Collab between American YouTuber Rhett & Link and Australian YouTuber HowToBasic

In a collaboration between American creators Rhett & Link and Australian creator HowToBasic, the YouTubers combined their unique styles of comedy and entertainment, attracting viewers from both their established audiences.

Utilizing social media for broader reach

The internet is a huge web of social media accounts and potential audiences. Try and meet your audience where they are, spread your content all over the social media bubble.

Connecting with global audiences

Use social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to engage with your audience and promote your content. This can help you connect with viewers from around the world and build a loyal fan base.

Promoting content through multiple channels

Share your videos on various platforms to increase their visibility and reach a more diverse audience. Encourage your followers to share your content with their networks, further expanding your reach.

Looking to grow your brand outside your location?…

While location does have an impact on YouTube’s algorithm and audience engagement, content creators can still achieve success regardless of their geographic location.

By creating content with global appeal, collaborating with international creators, and utilizing social media for promotion, YouTubers can defy geographic boundaries and reach audiences around the world.

Success on YouTube is not solely determined by location, but rather by the quality and relatability of the content you create.

Can You See Who Looks at Your Instagram

Knowing who has been looking at your social media profiles is one of those things that just about everyone wishes they could do at some point or another.

At least, if they’ve been on social media for a while. Whether you’re checking to see if the ex you’re pretending not to think about has been lurking on your timeline, or, from more of a marketing perspective, you’re just curious who’s been looking at your posts.

This applies to just about all social media platforms, but perhaps more so to Instagram.

Perhaps it’s the nature of the average post (there doesn’t tend to be quite as many bikini pics on Twitter, for example) or maybe it’s just that people on Instagram are more open about wanting to see who’s looking at their feed.

So, can you see who looks at your Instagram? The answer is… it depends. Sorry. Keep reading and we’ll elaborate for you.

Defining Instagram

The problem is “your Instagram” is too vague a premise to accurately answer the question. For the most part, there is no way to see who has been looking at your Instagram, but there are some instances where it is possible. Let’s dive into the differences.

Your Instagram Profile

Probably the most common way in which people want to know if someone has been lurking in their profile itself, by which we mean can you see who has been looking at your main profile page on Instagram. Seeing who has been reading your bio, looking through your pics, watching your reels, etc.

In this case, we can give a resounding “no”. It is not possible (yet) for Instagram users to see who has been looking at their profile. Users could spend all day deep diving into your photo history and you have no way of knowing.

Your Instagram Posts

What about specific posts? Again, the answer is no. Instagram does not currently provide a way for users to look at a list of people who have viewed a particular post.

Your Instagram Stories

Here things get a little more interesting. You can see who has been looking at your Instagram stories… for a limited time. Simply tap the burger menu (the three horizontal lines) in the top right, tap on “Archive”, and scroll to the appropriate story. When you’re on the story, swipe up and you can see who has viewed that story.

As you will no doubt be aware if you use Instagram, stories are not permanent. They sit on your profile for 24 hours and then they are gone. Well, almost. As the person who uploaded the story, you can continue to view it for another 24 hours, along with the information about everyone who has viewed it. After that total of 48 hours from the time of posting, the information is gone.

Your Instagram Direct Messages

DMs are a little more complicated—though not by much. You can see if a person you are in a conversation with has read your direct messages because Instagram will explicitly tell you with a little message in the chat window saying something like “just seen”.

This doesn’t apply if you send a message to someone you haven’t spoken to in DM before, however. Or, rather, it can apply, but the person you are messaging has the option to ignore your message, and you won’t get any notification if they do. Only when they accept your request to chat will Instagram let you know if they have read your messages.

Other Ways to Know

That’s it for the official ways you can tell if someone has been looking at your posts, but there are other ways you can assume or infer that someone has been looking.

Comments

If someone comments on a particular post, it’s safe to say they have been looking at that post. The same goes for liking it. But, on the subject of liking…

Likes

A like on a recent post may tell you that a particular person has viewed that post, but a like on an old post can tell you so much more.

Instagram isn’t big on pushing older content, so when you a like on an old post, it’s usually a good indicator that that person has been doing something of a deep dive on your Instagram profile. This tends to be a little unnerving, as it shows someone is paying a lot of attention to you.

To paraphrase Ed Sheeran; try not to double-tap from way back.

Should You Care?

The next question worth pondering is whether or not you should care if someone is looking at your Instagram profile or content, and the answer is no.

We understand it can cause a bit of a start to suddenly start getting dozens of likes on posts from years ago but, ultimately, you posted that content online for people to look at. You can take posts down or lock your profile, so you are in control of what people can see on your Instagram. As with any social media, you have to accept that a wide range of people will see your content, even people you might not want looking at it.

Your choices in this regard are either to not put the content up in the first place, take it down if you already put it up, or lock your profile so you can control who can and can’t see it. Or, of course, just live with it.

Final Thoughts

While other services like TikTok make it possible to know who has been looking at your profile, Instagram has remained steadfastly in the anonymous (to each other) browsing camp.

Ultimately, it is their platform and their prerogative over how they run it. That being said, if your interests are purely marketing-related, you can always start advertising on Instagram. You won’t be able to see specific names of people who viewed your content, but you will be able to see analytics on the type of people who are looking.

Top 5 Tools To Get You Started on YouTube

Very quickly before you go here are 5 amazing tools I have used every day to grow my YouTube channel from 0 to 30K subscribers in the last 12 months that I could not live without.

1. VidIQ helps boost my views and get found in search

I almost exclusively switched to VidIQ from a rival in 2020.

Within 12 months I tripled the size of my channel and very quickly learnt the power of thumbnails, click through rate and proper search optimization. Best of all, they are FREE!

2. Adobe Creative Suite helps me craft amazing looking thumbnails and eye-catching videos

I have been making youtube videos on and off since 2013.

When I first started I threw things together in Window Movie Maker, cringed at how it looked but thought “that’s the best I can do so it’ll have to do”.

Big mistake!

I soon realized the move time you put into your editing and the more engaging your thumbnails are the more views you will get and the more people will trust you enough to subscribe.

That is why I took the plunge and invested in my editing and design process with Adobe Creative Suite. They offer a WIDE range of tools to help make amazing videos, simple to use tools for overlays, graphics, one click tools to fix your audio and the very powerful Photoshop graphics program to make eye-catching thumbnails.

Best of all you can get a free trial for 30 days on their website, a discount if you are a student and if you are a regular human being it starts from as little as £9 per month if you want to commit to a plan.

3. Rev.com helps people read my videos

You can’t always listen to a video.

Maybe you’re on a bus, a train or sat in a living room with a 5 year old singing baby shark on loop… for HOURS. Or, you are trying to make as little noise as possible while your new born is FINALLY sleeping.

This is where Rev can help you or your audience consume your content on the go, in silence or in a language not native to the video.

Rev.com can help you translate your videos, transcribe your videos, add subtitles and even convert those subtitles into other languages – all from just $1.50 per minute.

A GREAT way to find an audience and keep them hooked no matter where they are watching your content.

4. Learn new skills for FREE with Skillshare

I SUCK reading books to learn, but I LOVE online video courses.

Every month I learn something new. Editing, writing, video skills, how to cook, how to run a business – even how to meditate to calm a busy mind.

I find all of these for FREE with Skillshare – Sign up, pick all the courses you want and cancel anytime you need.

5. Shutterstock helps me add amazing video b-roll cutaways

I mainly make tutorials and talking head videos.

And in this modern world this can be a little boring if you don’t see something funky every once in a while.

I try with overlays, jump cuts and being funny but my secret weapon is b-roll overlay content.

I can talk about skydiving, food, money, kids, cats – ANYTHING I WANT – with a quick search on the Shutterstock website I can find a great looking clip to overlay on my videos, keeping them entertained and watching for longer.

They have a wide library of videos, graphics, images and even a video maker tool and it wont break the bank with plans starting from as little as £8.25 ($9) per month.

Can YouTube Audio Library Be Used On Instagram?

YouTube goes to great lengths to ensure it doesn’t run afoul of any copyright laws, and those lengths include providing an entire audio library for YouTubers to use in their content so they don’t need to use copyrighted music.

But how generous is the terms and licensing on YouTube’s music library? For instance, can YouTube audio library be used on Instagram? What about Facebook? TikTok? Or even just your own independent movie project?

We’re going to dive into this topic in more detail, of course, but the short answer is yes, you can use YouTube Audio Library files on Instagram, as well as other platforms. But, as always, there is a little more to know before you go grabbing all the music.

What is YouTube Audio Library?

YouTube Audio Library is a collection of audio spanning several genres and types of music. It is accessible to YouTube users only, though the licenses on the files are creative commons, meaning they are free to use, you just need access to YouTube Studio to get to them. And, of course, there is no cost to open a YouTube account and get access to YouTube Studio.

In the past, YouTube Audio Library was a separate part of YouTube that could be accessed publicly, but it was moved into YouTube Studio relatively recently.

The audio available in YouTube Audio Library can be filtered by several aspects, including length, genre, mood, and whether attribution is required. You can play the audio directly from YouTube Audio Library, so you don’t need to download it to decide if it is right for the content you are making.

Can YouTube Audio Library Be Used On Instagram? 1

YouTube Audio Library Licensing

Now we get to the meat of this topic—the licensing of the audio you can find in this library. As of right now, all of the audio is licensed under Creative Commons, meaning it is free to use for any personal or commercial endeavour. There are two flavours of Creative Commons license available; non-attribution and attribution required.

These are pretty self-explanatory, but the attribution on attribution required audio is the only requirement—you can still use the audio however you see fit. Of course, you are free to give attribution on the non-attribution audio as well, but you are not required to.

It should be noted that YouTube can make changes to their services at any time, so it is always worth making sure that the audio you are choosing is clearly stated to be Creative Commons licensed. It is well within the realm of possibility that YouTube could start adding audio that is specifically licensed for use on YouTube only. Should this happen, it’s worth taking an extra second to verify the audio you’re using is freely licensed to avoid getting in legal trouble with YouTube.

Using YouTube Audio Library on Instagram

Being legally allowed to use the audio in YouTube’s Audio Library on Instagram is one thing, but how do you actually go about it? Well, in 2021, it’s probably not as easy as you might have expected.

Instagram does have a feature for adding music to videos… if those videos are Stories (Instagram’s version of Snaps or YouTube Shorts). The music sticker allows you to simply drop the sticker onto your story, pick the song and section, and away you go. Unfortunately, you can only choose from the selection of music Instagram provides.

The music available here is all licensed copyrighted music of the sort you would expect to hear on the radio, not Creative Commons audio from YouTube Audio Library. If you want to overlay Adele’s Someone Like You over your short video, that’s fine, but if you found something on YouTube Audio Library that you really like and want to use, you’re going to have to bring in some video editing software.

What that video editing software is will largely depend on what you’re comfortable with, but given that this post is primarily about using YouTube Audio Library with Instagram, it’s safe to say you’ll be looking for a mobile video editing app, rather than a fully-featured production suite for PC or Mac.

There are several free options available, of course, but just about all of them have restrictions that can only be removed if the app is paid for (or subscribed to in some cases). Some of the more common restrictions include having a watermark in the video and restrictions on how long the video can be. The good news is that these apps are rarely expensive to purchase the premium version of.

Some popular mobile video editing apps are;

  • KineMaster
  • Magisto
  • VivaVideo
  • Quik
  • FilmoraGo

Once you have a video editing app that you are comfortable with, simply head over to YouTube Studio and the YouTube Audio Library, find the audio you want to use, download it, and pull it into your editing app. From there you will have to refer to the instructions for using your specific app, but it should be relatively straightforward. After all, these are lightweight apps intended for making quick edits, not professional editing suites intended for making cinematic masterpieces in!

Final Thoughts

This post focuses on Instagram because Instagram is probably the most common platform for this kind of activity (after YouTube itself, of course), but the same rules apply elsewhere. The audio in YouTube’s Audio Library is freely available to use as you please (assuming the chosen audio is licensed under Creative Commons, as mentioned above), and that means you can use it anywhere.

Incidentally, if you are interested in learning more about Creative Commons, follow this link to their website, which has a wealth of information and news about it. It never hurts to understand more about the licenses you are relying on when creating content.

If you benefit from the music found on YouTube Audio Library, it may be good karma (if you believe in that) to throw a little attribution the way of the audio’s creator even if it wasn’t a requirement in the first place.

Then again, maybe you’re not looking to get freely licensed music out of YouTube, maybe you want to get copyrighted music into YouTube…

HOW TO GET MORE VIEWS ON YOUTUBE TIPS & TRICKS YOUTUBE

How to Promote YouTube Videos on Instagram

Instagram is an incredibly popular platform, but it isn’t always obvious how you can leverage that platform to promote your YouTube videos. Firstly, you’re promoting a video and Instagram is centred around images. Second, Instagram descriptions don’t support links.

Sure, you can paste the link to your video into the description, but your followers can’t click it. And, you all probably know, introducing extra steps in a call to action is a big no no. You want your viewers to have as little effort between them and your videos as possible.

Still, Instagram is a valuable platform, and there are more options for promoting your videos than just posting an image and putting a link in your description. In this post, we’re going to talk about how to promote YouTube videos on Instagram, so settle in, and let’s get started.

Make Your Instagram Account Valuable

This is the golden rule when promoting YouTube content on other platforms; your presence on that platform has to have some value to the people on that platform in its own right.

If your Instagram account only exists to post links to your latest videos, there isn’t much of a reason for people to follow it. After all, if they just wanted notifying about your latest videos, they would subscribe to you on YouTube. The point here is that you’re trying to attract new subscribers. If a person on Instagram doesn’t know you, they’re not likely to follow you for new video updates. And if they don’t follow you, you can’t promote content to them.

So, make your Instagram account valuable in its own right. Post unique content that works in the Instagram ecosystem. And, when we say unique, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need to make entirely new content just for Instagram. You can repurpose your existing content, but you should make sure that it fits for the platform, which might mean re-editing, or clipping parts of your videos.

How to Promote YouTube Videos on Instagram

Put a Link in Your Bio

Instagram may not support clickable links in the descriptions of your posts, but they do support them in your Instagram bio. You can take advantage of this to put your YouTube channel link in there, or you can update the link to point towards your latest video.

Either way, be sure to mention in the description of each post that there’s a link in your bio, so anyone interested in seeing more from you will know where to go to find it!

Use Hashtags

Hashtags are incredibly useful on Instagram, perhaps more so than Twitter—the platform that spawned them. Instagram is very generous with hashtags, allowing you to pack quite a few into your description. And you can always comment on your own video to get more hashtags in there.

The important thing isn’t to get as many hashtags as possible, however, it is to get the right hashtags. You want your tags to be relevant to your content, otherwise you’re just going to be putting your content in front of people who aren’t interested. Even more importantly, you should try to find the most specific tags related to what you do. We’re not saying don’t use the incredibly popular tags that have millions of posts, but also try to zero in on tags that perhaps just have a few thousand posts, or even mere hundreds.

Tagging your content with these tags will increase the chances of it being seen by the people who are interested in those topics. Sure, there will be fewer people in those topics in total, but they will be more likely to see your post, and more likely to be interested in its content.

Don’t Limit Yourself to Pictures

Instagram is known as a platform for posting images, but it has long-since branched out into video content. Of course, the video-viewing experience of Instagram is very different to YouTube, with shorter content being the order of the day.

Regular Instagram posts can be no longer than 60 seconds, while IGTV posts can be up to 10 minutes. If you are lucky enough to get verified by Instagram, you can post IGTV posts up to 60 minutes in length.

Think of Instagram as a cross between a bite-size version of YouTube and a teaser platform, where you can post enticing clips and smaller versions of your YouTube content to lure viewers over. But always keep in mind that the content you post (on average) should have value for your Instagram followers in its own right, and not just be a pure advertisement for your YouTube channel.

Link to Your Instagram Account on YouTube

This may seem a little counterintuitive seeing as this post is about promoting YouTube on Instagram, but as sad as it may seem, numbers matter. An account with plenty of followers will occupy a more authoritative space in the mind of people checking out your account than one with hardly any followers.

So, while it’s a very indirect way of helping, promoting your Instagram account through your YouTube channel—even if it’s only a link on your channel page—can actually help you in promoting your channel through Instagram. As always, be careful not to shove anything down your followers or viewers throats. Promote, but don’t go over board.

How to Promote YouTube Videos on Instagram 2

Don’t Neglect Stories

Instagram stories are an ideal medium for promoting your YouTube videos because they are short, they support hashtags, and you can insert links into them, giving your viewers a direct way to get to the content. And, with the addition of YouTube Shorts, you can use the same promotional videos for both Instagram and YouTube.

Final Thoughts

Like most popular social media platforms, Instagram is a valuable tool for promoting your YouTube content, but only if you approach it correctly. It is a different platform to Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and all the other big players, and it needs to be treated as such. If you go in expecting to use Instagram exactly how you use Twitter, or just post your latest videos, you probably won’t find much success.
