Keeping up with an upload schedule is a good way to deliver consistent content and keep your YouTube channel rolling. I bulk record my videos and find that this helps me keep up with the demands of a YouTube channel and its algorithm. Once bulk edited, bulk uploaded – I can then mass schedule videos for a set time, on set days and let it do its thing on autopilot. This mans I never have to worry about being sick, or worrying when im on holiday.
9 BEST Tips For Small YouTubers – (YouTube Basics For Beginners) // In this tutorial I touch upon all the important basics for small and new Youtubers from framing yourself in videos, b-roll, youtube ranking tips for youtube video seo and more.
1 – Framing – Are you framing yourself in your videos properly? I mistake often done by new and small YouTubers. Make sure you take up a large part of your video screen and not hidden in the bottom corner of your screen.
2 – Camera Shake – If you are out and about or if you are new and haven’t figured out a way to aim your camera at yourself…. try and think about camera shake. Tripods are great for static shots, or slow your walking speed down if you are vlogging on the go.
3 – Audio – YouTube Audio is important. Most people will forgive bad footage but they will NOT forgive bad audio. Avoid background noise and try to invest in a lapel microphone or shotgun microphone for static environments.
4 – Camera / Webcam – You don’t have to spend and arm and a leg on a camera. You can record videos on a webcam or even your smartphone. In fact these days a mobile phone might be better quality than most cheap webcams you can find online.
5 – Lighting – This can be a life safer and a time winner. For years I struggled with the sunlight and had to fight the clouds or the early dark evenings in autumn. But if you have your own lighting you can record whenever you want and without needing to be at the fickle mercy of the weather.
6 – Channel Name – This is an important part of branding. With a channel name you can establish a niche and/or a focal personality within your content. My channel name is my name, Alan Spicer, which means I will be the core focus. But if your username is something silly and childish with bad spelling, it might be hard to be taken seriously should you want to be in a more business focused mindset for your channel.
7 – Notes vs Scripts – I personally use bullet points to help me make my videos. This is a good way to structure your videos, stay on topics and help you learn Youtuber video content as a small or new youtuber. Scripts can be good as well, but try to avoid sounding like a robot as you read word for word from the script.
8 – Trim Your Videos – You might have an okay 14 minute video but its filled with gaps, ers and ums. These can ruin the flow of your videos and turn your viewer off. As a new youtuber or small youtuber you need to deliver your point as quickly and cleanly as possible so why not edit that 14 minute video into 7 minutes without the mistakes.

5 EASY Ways To Get More Subscribers on YouTube // Small YouTubers Grow on YouTube with these 5 simple tricks. It’s often the simple things you overlook that can make a huge difference when trying to get your first 100 youtube subscribers and the more you nail these the more you can grow to get 1000 subscribers and more.
How To Get More YouTube Subscribers
1 – Make It Easy For Them To Subscribe – You need to add links in your videos descriptions, on your youtube channel page, on yor social media and anywhere people find you. The easy they can find your link the more likely they are to join find your channel and watch your videos in the long run.
2 – Give Them A Real Reason To Subscribe – This is the value proposition. You need to tell them why they should watch you, how you can and will help them and why YOU are worth their 5-7minutes of their time rather than someone else making the same content as you.
3 – REMIND THEM – If they are already watching your videos then they are already interested in your content, maybe you should remind them to subscribe! I use a little pop up animation in the middle of my videos that act as a small reminder to click the subscribe button and this helps build a very engaged audience that loves your videos.
4 – Grab them before they leave! If they have watched all the way through your video, try and convert them into a permanent viewer by adding a subscribe link to your end screens. This is a great way to funnel them into another one of your videos or hook them into your channel for the future.
5 – Watermark – The little icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your videos. This is a constant reminder to subscribe to your channel but it also works when your video in embedded on other sites like Facebook, Linked or even blogs. Make sure it stands out and people will be more likely to click on it.
2ND CHANNEL? – Should I Have Multiple Channels? // I see so many open extra channels thinking the 2nd channel will help them expand in multiple niches but the flaw is this is the hard work it takes to grow 1 channel with regular content let alone 3. If you only have time to grow 1 channel, why open a 2nd new channel and double your workload?
Long term growth on any social media platform is hard and will take a long time to seed a foundation. This tends to be the reason many creators burn out and give up on their goals. If you are creating content just to hit a demographic or to chase trends then it can get soulless, it can get hard and it can become a chore rather than a passion. HOWEVER, you can avoid this pitfall from day one if you make your channel, your social media content or your foundation about something that you love.
Have you ever been around a Star Wars fan that loves it soooooo much that they just wont shut up about it? Imagine how much content they can make talking about their favourite franchise without feeling it’s a chore. Use that passion as the fuel that fires your brand and pushes you to make content for weeks, months, and even years into the future.

Take YouTube Seriously – How To Grow on YouTube #Rant // Growing on YouTube is hard and needs some serious commitment. Are you serious about your long term goals and are you truly doing everything you need to do to stand out and grow a youtube channel in 2019?
How To Grow A Channel on YouTube – So many start a YouTube channel, upload a few videos and then dream that this is their new live, their new job but then they fail to commit to how serious an idea becoming a full time YouTuber is and stop doing whats needed to grow their channel.
Niche – Are you uploading random content. Are you trying to tackle every topic all at the same time. Its hard to grow a YouTube channel and to build an audience if the audience doesnt know what your core focus is. If I subscribe to a channel because I like their cooking content but they then make gaming, walking, movie reviews in the next 3-4 videos…. this will alienate me and what I subscribed for and I might never watch again. Topic one topic and drill down into it.
Lead With Value – Why should I watch your videos? What do you give me that I can’t get from someone else? What can you teach me in your next video that is worth the 3-7minutes that I just invested in your content. The value proposition is key to a successful channel. If you watch my videos you will learn how to grow your youtube channel with tutorials and tips, if I watch your disneyland vlog – will I be better off for it after consuming it?
Bulk Uploading Videos – Just because you can make 3-4 videos a day, does not mean you should upload 3-4 videos a day. People will only ever watch as much as they want to. If you upload 3-4 videos a day you will burn out your viewers and they might watch the first or second videos but even the most loyal and dedicated audience gets fed up by the 3rd hour of their favourite wrestling program in the same night. Pace your content to 1 a day at most, or even 3-4 a week if possible. Anything more than 2 a day and YouTube stops pushing your videos out to your audience.
Regular Uploads – Learn from the TV shows you love to watch. Game of Thrones is always released on a Monday and your favourite tv soup is on the same time and same days every week. This is deliberate so you learn where, when and how to find a show and you should do the same. If you know your favourite YouTuber uploads every Mon/Wed/Fri then youll be waiting for them to upload and it helps people build you into their every day routine – Cup of tea, slice of toast, listen to the Start Creating Podcast every Tuesday.
Branding – To grow a YouTube channel on the clutter crowded space of 2019 you need to stand out and look professional. A good thumbnail and channel banner can really help with this. In fact a consistent thumbnail style can be the thing people recognise more than your face.
