Gyre.pro and Upstream are both cloud streaming tools that can loop your pre-recorded videos 24/7 with your computer switched off. Where they differ is in what sits around that loop: Gyre.pro adds a dedicated IP per user and an enterprise tier, while Upstream adds a live studio, more platforms and a free plan. This comparison covers every feature, price and use case side by side.

The short version
I use Gyre.pro for my own long-running 24/7 loops, and I’ve used Upstream and found it easy to set up. Both tools now do the core 24/7 job well. Gyre.pro wins on dedicated infrastructure and a proven enterprise record. Upstream wins on price, platform count and having a live studio built in. Plenty of creators would be well served by either.
Why listen to me
I’m a YouTube Certified Expert (since 2017) with six YouTube Silver Play Buttons and 500+ channel audits behind me. I run 24/7 streams on Gyre.pro every day and have earned over $10,000 through its affiliate programme. I earn commission from both tools in this comparison, so I’ve listed what each does better rather than picking a side for the sake of it.

⚡ QUICK ANSWER: GYRE.PRO VS UPSTREAM
Gyre.pro is better for hands-off 24/7 loops on a dedicated server and IP, backed by a long enterprise track record. Upstream is better value: it also runs 24/7 cloud playlists, adds a live studio with overlays, supports 30+ platforms and has a free plan with 24 hours a month.
Gyre.pro vs Upstream: which is better in 2026?
Gyre.pro is better for creators who want a purely hands-off 24/7 loop on a dedicated IP, and Upstream is better for creators who want 24/7 loops plus live shows from one cheaper tool. Neither is the wrong choice for a standard 24/7 YouTube stream.
GYRE.PRO
★★★★★ 4.8/5
Gyre.pro is the stronger choice for purely hands-off 24/7 loops on YouTube, with a dedicated server and IP per user, published creator case studies and an enterprise white-label tier.
UPSTREAM
★★★★½ 4.5/5
Upstream is the better value all-rounder: 24/7 cloud playlists, a browser live studio with overlays, 30+ platforms and a free plan with no watermark, from $30 a month per stream.
Built for hands-off 24/7 YouTube streams
Gyre.pro: dedicated server and IP per user, on YouTube’s verified encoder list, RTMP stream key only. Try it free for 7 days.
What is Gyre.pro?
Gyre.pro is a cloud platform that streams your pre-recorded video library as live content, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You upload your videos, build a playlist, and Gyre streams continuously to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, X, Kick, Mixcloud or Telegram from its own servers, with no ongoing input from you.
Every Gyre.pro user gets a dedicated server and a dedicated IP address rather than shared cloud resources, which is the base of its reliability for streams that run for weeks. Gyre is on YouTube’s verified encoder list and connects to your channel with your RTMP stream key only, so your YouTube login never touches the platform.
I’ve covered Gyre in depth in my complete Gyre.pro review and my guide to building a 24/7 YouTube channel.
What is Upstream?
Upstream is a browser-based streaming studio that also runs 24/7 cloud playlists. In the studio you connect your sources (webcam, screen or pre-recorded video), design the layout with overlays and graphics, and broadcast to up to 10 destinations at once from a list of 30+ platforms. Upstream includes 100 GB of cloud storage for media and a stream designer for custom visual layouts.
Upstream also runs pre-recorded content as a hands-free 24/7 loop from the cloud, so you don’t need to be online. That puts it in direct competition with Gyre.pro for always-on streams, as well as with StreamYard for live shows.
I’ve used Upstream myself, and the setup is one of the quickest I’ve tried: you can be live from a browser in minutes without installing anything.
How do Gyre.pro and Upstream compare feature by feature?
Gyre.pro and Upstream match on the core 24/7 features: cloud looping, no computer needed, scheduling and a place on YouTube’s verified encoder list. Gyre.pro leads on storage at higher tiers, dedicated IP and enterprise features, while Upstream leads on platform count, live production tools, price and its free plan.

Not sure which tool fits your channel?
The right streaming tool depends on what you’re looping, how often you go live and what the stream is meant to do for the rest of your channel. On a free discovery call I’ll look at your channel and tell you which setup makes sense, and whether a 24/7 stream is worth running at all.
- You’re deciding between Gyre.pro and Upstream
- You have hours of evergreen videos sitting idle
- You want live shows and a 24/7 loop on the same channel
- You want more watch time before the 1 February 2027 YouTube Partner Programme changes
Can Upstream run a 24/7 stream like Gyre.pro?
Yes. Upstream runs a 24/7 live stream from its own servers with your computer off, so nobody needs to be online once it starts. Video and audio playlists are set up separately, loop in order or shuffled, and can be edited while the stream is live without restarting it.
Upstream’s scheduler can start a stream once, daily or weekly, and its free plan gives you 24 streaming hours a month to test a loop before paying. Gyre.pro does the same core job, with playlists and scheduling on Start+ and above. The practical differences come down to infrastructure, price and extras, covered below. See Upstream scheduling for how its schedules work.
Which has more storage, Gyre.pro or Upstream?
Upstream gives you 100 GB of storage, which sits above Gyre.pro’s Start plan (35 GB) and Start+ plan (75 GB) but below Pro+ (150 GB) and well below Enterprise (450+ GB).
For a live studio, 100 GB is more than enough for graphics, overlays and clips. For a 24/7 loop, storage decides how many hours of content you can keep in rotation. Gyre says its 75 GB Start+ plan holds about 28 hours of Full HD footage, which is plenty for most music or ambient streams. Channels with large educational or entertainment libraries should look at Gyre.pro’s Pro+ or Enterprise tiers.
Storage reality check: work out how many hours of video your loop needs before comparing plans. A 10-hour lofi loop fits comfortably on either tool. A 100-hour back catalogue needs Gyre.pro Pro+ or careful trimming on Upstream.
How many platforms can Gyre.pro and Upstream stream to?
Upstream supports 30+ platforms and sends one stream to up to 10 at once, while Gyre.pro supports 8 major platforms and runs up to 8 independent streams on Pro+. Each Upstream stream runs on its own cloud server, and it can send to up to 10 destinations at once.
Gyre.pro’s model is built around independent streams: on Pro+ you can run 8 separate loops at the same time, each on its own stream key. That suits creators running several channels or several 24/7 streams on one channel.
For the platforms most YouTube creators care about (YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and Instagram), both tools have you covered. Upstream’s wider list matters if you also stream to smaller platforms or custom RTMP servers.
What does Upstream’s stream designer do that Gyre.pro can’t?
Upstream’s stream designer lets you add overlays, graphics, logos, lower thirds and other branding to a live broadcast, and Gyre.pro has no equivalent. That makes Upstream a live production platform as well as a stream router.
If you host a live show and want your logo in the corner, a ticker along the bottom, a “now live” banner or a camera frame in your brand colours, Upstream does that in the browser without OBS. For live production quality, that’s a real advantage.
Gyre.pro streams exactly what you upload, with no design layer. That’s a deliberate choice: Gyre’s job is to stream your content as reliably and continuously as possible. For channels where the videos are already fully produced, it’s no loss. For live hosts who want real-time production elements, it is.
How much do Gyre.pro and Upstream cost?
Upstream is cheaper to start: free for 24 hours a month, then $30 a month per 1080p stream with unlimited hours. Gyre.pro starts at $49 a month and has no permanent free plan, only a 7-day trial.
Gyre.pro pricing
| Plan | Monthly | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free trial | $0 for 7 days | 1 stream, YouTube only, 20 GB, HD, Gyre watermark |
| Start | $49 ($40.66 annual) | 1 stream, all 8 platforms, 35 GB, Full HD 60fps, no watermark |
| Start+ | $99 ($82.16 annual) | 4 simultaneous streams, 75 GB, playlists, scheduler |
| Pro+ | $169 ($140.33 annual) | 8 simultaneous streams, 150 GB, all features |
| 4K plans | About $75 to $289 | 4K output |
| Enterprise | Custom | 20+ streams, 450+ GB, white-label, account manager |
Longer billing cuts costs: Gyre lists about 20% off for 3 months, 30% for 6 months and 40% for annual. Full details are in my Gyre.pro pricing breakdown.
Upstream pricing
Upstream’s free plan includes every feature and 24 streaming hours a month, with no watermark. Paid plans start at $30 a month per 1080p stream ($24 billed yearly) with unlimited hours.
| Plan | Monthly | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Every feature, 1 stream at a time, 24 streaming hours a month, no card, no watermark |
| 1 stream | $30 ($24 yearly) | Unlimited hours, 1080p 30fps |
| 2 streams | $50 | Unlimited hours |
| 3 streams | $70 | Unlimited hours |
| 4+ streams | $20 per stream ($16 yearly) | Unlimited hours |
Prices in USD, excluding VAT where it applies. Upstream from Upstream pricing, checked 20 October 2026; 60fps and 4K upgrades cost extra. Gyre.pro prices from my Gyre.pro pricing breakdown. Check current terms before you buy.
On price alone, Upstream wins at every entry point: one unlimited stream costs $30 against Gyre.pro’s $49, and four streams cost $80 against Gyre.pro Start+ at $99. What Gyre.pro’s extra money buys is the dedicated IP, larger storage tiers and the enterprise features.

What are the pros and cons of Gyre.pro and Upstream?
Gyre.pro’s strengths are reliability, security and a proven record with large channels, and its weaknesses are price and the lack of live tools. Upstream’s strengths are value, platform reach and its live studio, and its main limits are the free plan’s hour cap and a smaller published track record.

What results do Gyre.pro users report?
Gyre.pro publishes case studies showing large gains in watch time and revenue from 24/7 streams. These figures come from Gyre’s own case studies:
- StrEat Gaming (2.78M subscribers): 87% of total watch time and 82.4% of total revenue from Gyre-powered streams, a 5x profit increase
- Grace Wins (182K subscribers): views up from 2.72M to 6.58M, average view duration up from 5:44 to 31:10
- YEES (880K subscribers): +79% watch time in 6 months, +40,090 subscribers, about 1.5x RPM
- Music channel (unnamed): +824% views, +847% watch time, +1,100% revenue, with $17,936 from streams alone
- Platform average: +30% watch time, +30% views, +20% RPM, +30% revenue, +20% subscribers
Upstream hasn’t published creator case studies like these yet, so on proven results at scale Gyre.pro has the edge for now. For the money side of 24/7 streaming, read whether Gyre.pro can really make passive income and Gyre.pro case studies.
“I’ve used Gyre.pro to generate over $10,000 in affiliate commissions and have seen the watch time results firsthand across channels I manage and work with. The dedicated server model isn’t just a marketing line — it’s the reason those streams stay live for weeks without intervention. That’s the fundamental difference between Gyre.pro and tools that were designed for a different job.”
Who should choose Gyre.pro and who should choose Upstream?
Choose Gyre.pro if long-running hands-off reliability and scale matter most, and choose Upstream if you want 24/7 loops, live shows and a lower price in one tool.
| If you… | Choose |
|---|---|
| Want a 24/7 loop with a dedicated IP and the longest track record | Gyre.pro |
| Run several channels or 8 separate loops at once | Gyre.pro |
| Are an agency needing white-label streaming for clients | Gyre.pro |
| Want to test a 24/7 stream before paying anything | Upstream |
| Want 24/7 loops and live shows with overlays from one account | Upstream |
| Stream to smaller platforms or custom RTMP servers as well as YouTube | Upstream |
| Want the lowest monthly cost for unlimited hours | Upstream |
The two tools also work side by side: Gyre.pro running your always-on loop, and Upstream handling scheduled live shows. For other options, see my Gyre.pro alternatives guide, Gyre.pro vs Restream and the full best 24/7 livestreaming tools ranking.
How would I test Gyre.pro and Upstream before paying?
I’d run the same loop on both free options for a week and compare the results in YouTube Studio. These are the four steps I’d follow.
My 4-step test plan
- I’d pick 5–10 hours of my own evergreen videos on one theme and upload the same set to both tools.
- I’d start Gyre.pro’s 7-day trial and Upstream’s free plan in the same week, each streaming unlisted to a test stream key first.
- I’d check sound, quality and the loop point on each, then make both public. Here’s how to find your RTMP stream key.
- After 7 days I’d compare live watch time and new subscribers from each stream, and keep paying for the one that earned its place. My guide to increasing watch time with 24/7 livestreams shows what to look for.
One thing to watch: Upstream’s free plan stops at 24 hours a month, so a week-long test on Upstream means a paid month or a shorter daily window using its scheduler.

People also ask about Gyre.pro vs Upstream

Yes. Upstream and Gyre are both on YouTube’s list of verified live streaming encoders, which I checked on 20 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions: Gyre.pro vs Upstream
Longer answers to the questions people search for when choosing between Gyre.pro and Upstream.
Is Gyre.pro better than Upstream for YouTube streaming?
Gyre.pro is better if you want hands-off 24/7 loops on a dedicated server and IP with an enterprise track record. Upstream is better if you want 24/7 loops and a live studio with overlays in one tool, a lower starting price and a free plan. Both are on YouTube’s verified encoder list.
How much storage does Upstream offer vs Gyre.pro?
Upstream offers 100 GB of cloud storage. Gyre.pro offers 35 GB on Start, 75 GB on Start+ and 150 GB on Pro+, with 450+ GB on Enterprise. For very large video libraries, Gyre.pro’s Pro+ and Enterprise plans hold more than Upstream.
How many destinations does Upstream support vs Gyre.pro?
Upstream supports 30+ platforms and sends one stream to up to 10 of them at once. Gyre.pro supports 8 platforms (YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, X, Kick, Mixcloud and Telegram), with up to 8 simultaneous streams on Pro+ and 20+ on Enterprise.
Does Upstream support 24/7 automated streaming?
Yes. Upstream loops pre-recorded video and audio playlists 24/7 from the cloud, with no computer or presence needed. It also includes a live studio with overlays for live shows.
What does Upstream’s stream designer do?
Upstream’s stream designer is a browser-based tool for adding overlays, graphics, logos, lower thirds and custom layouts to your live stream. Think of it as a production layer on top of your video feed. Gyre.pro has no equivalent and streams your pre-recorded videos exactly as uploaded.
Which tool is better for a YouTube creator who wants passive income?
Both can run passive 24/7 loops that build watch time while you’re away. Gyre.pro has the longer record here, with published creator case studies and a dedicated IP per user. Upstream can run the same passive 24/7 loops, and adds a live studio for when you want to go live yourself.
Is Upstream cheaper than Gyre.pro?
Yes, at every entry point. Upstream’s free plan costs nothing for 24 streaming hours a month, and its 1-stream plan is $30 a month ($24 billed yearly) with unlimited hours. Gyre.pro’s Start plan is $49 a month ($40.66 billed yearly) and adds a dedicated IP per user.
Do you have to give Gyre.pro or Upstream your YouTube login?
No. Gyre.pro connects with your RTMP stream key only. Upstream lets you either sign in to YouTube or paste a stream key, so you can keep your channel login private with either tool.
Final thoughts: should you choose Gyre.pro or Upstream?
Choose Gyre.pro if you want a hands-off 24/7 loop on a dedicated IP with the strongest published track record, which is what I use for my own streams. Choose Upstream if you want the same 24/7 loops for less money, plus a live studio, 30+ platforms and a free plan to start with. Both are on YouTube’s verified encoder list, and both will run a 24/7 YouTube stream with your computer off.
