If your channel is banned, the word you want is “unbanned” and the route to it depends entirely on how you were banned. This is the step-by-step: work out what happened, file the right appeal the right way, know how long it takes, and understand your options if the appeal does not land. Panicking or spamming appeals only makes it worse.

Once you know the ban type, here is the process to get unbanned.

1Work out what kind of ban you have
Read YouTube’s email and note the word: strike, suspended, or terminated. If you are locked out or see logins you do not recognise, it is a hack, not a ban, and needs account recovery instead.

2Sign in with the owning account
Use the exact Google account that owns the channel. An appeal from the wrong account is closed without review.

3Open the notice in YouTube Studio
On desktop, open the notifications panel and find the strike or termination notice and the policy it names. If locked out, use the appeal link in YouTube’s email.

Click Begin Review or Submit appeal. Explain calmly and specifically how the content followed the guidelines or fair use. No anger, no threats, no essays.

Send it once and wait for the review. If a termination appeal fails, you may request a new channel through the Second Chances pilot one year after termination.
