How To Do Keyword Research for YouTube – 3 Free Keyword Research Tools

YouTube Keyword Research or Video SEO keyword ranking research is the secret to ranking better in youtube.

Learning how to do youtube keyword research with free keyword research tools can help you grow on youtube, get more views on youtube, get more subscribers on youtube and become successful on youtube search rankings long-term.

Top 5 Tools To Get You Started on YouTube

Very quickly before you go here are 5 amazing tools I have used every day to grow my YouTube channel from 0 to 30K subscribers in the last 12 months that I could not live without.

1. VidIQ helps boost my views and get found in search

I almost exclusively switched to VidIQ from a rival in 2020.

Within 12 months I tripled the size of my channel and very quickly learnt the power of thumbnails, click through rate and proper search optimization. Best of all, they are FREE!

2. Adobe Creative Suite helps me craft amazing looking thumbnails and eye-catching videos

I have been making youtube videos on and off since 2013.

When I first started I threw things together in Window Movie Maker, cringed at how it looked but thought “that’s the best I can do so it’ll have to do”.

Big mistake!

I soon realized the move time you put into your editing and the more engaging your thumbnails are the more views you will get and the more people will trust you enough to subscribe.

That is why I took the plunge and invested in my editing and design process with Adobe Creative Suite. They offer a WIDE range of tools to help make amazing videos, simple to use tools for overlays, graphics, one click tools to fix your audio and the very powerful Photoshop graphics program to make eye-catching thumbnails.

Best of all you can get a free trial for 30 days on their website, a discount if you are a student and if you are a regular human being it starts from as little as £9 per month if you want to commit to a plan.

3. Rev.com helps people read my videos

You can’t always listen to a video.

Maybe you’re on a bus, a train or sat in a living room with a 5 year old singing baby shark on loop… for HOURS. Or, you are trying to make as little noise as possible while your new born is FINALLY sleeping.

This is where Rev can help you or your audience consume your content on the go, in silence or in a language not native to the video.

Rev.com can help you translate your videos, transcribe your videos, add subtitles and even convert those subtitles into other languages – all from just $1.50 per minute.

A GREAT way to find an audience and keep them hooked no matter where they are watching your content.

4. PlaceIT can help you STAND OUT on YouTube

I SUCK at making anything flashy or arty.

I have every intention in the world to make something that looks cool but im about as artistic as a dropped ice-cream cone on the web windy day.

That is why I could not live on YouTube without someone like PlaceIT. They offer custom YouTube Banners, Avatars, YouTube Video Intros and YouTube End Screen Templates that are easy to edit with simple click, upload wizard to help you make amazing professional graphics in minutes.

Best of all, some of their templates are FREE! or you can pay a small fee if you want to go for their slightly more premium designs (pst – I always used the free ones).

5. StoryBlocks helps me add amazing video b-roll cutaways

I mainly make tutorials and talking head videos.

And in this modern world this can be a little boring if you don’t see something funky every once in a while.

I try with overlays, jump cuts and being funny but my secret weapon is b-roll overlay content.

I can talk about skydiving, food, money, kids, cats – ANYTHING I WANT – with a quick search on the StoryBlocks website I can find a great looking clip to overlay on my videos, keeping them entertained and watching for longer.

They have a wide library of videos, graphics, images and even a video maker tool and it wont break the bank with plans starting from as little as £8.25 ($9) per month.

YouTube Home Page in 2018 heavily influenced by the YouTube Algorithm your viewing habits and related content.

5 – Get Trending, Get Rapid Views

Getting on the YouTube Trending Tab is not something you can can learn from YouTube Tips and YouTube Hacks videos. The Trending Tab is the top 1% of the sites viral content for the last 24-48 hours. This normally includes top level creators, movie trailers, music videos and topical content.

6 – YouTube Subscribers Are YOUR Life Blood

YouTube uses the initial reactions to a newly published video as a way to ranking your video in the search and discovery algorithm. Getting more youtube subscribers in 2018 to watch your videos in the first 24-48 hours shows youtube how engaging that video is and how likely it is to retain viewers. Not only how long they watch that video but how long they stay on YouTube in general.

7 – Notifications Can KICK START Your Brand and Growth

The notification icon or bell icon is fairly new to YouTube. Late 2016 it is a way to guarantee push notifications are sent to your viewers and so you don’t miss any videos from your favourite YouTubers. This is effectively the new subscribe button if you always want to see a YouTubers content.

YouTube Algorithm 2018 – What is an Algorithm?

What is an Algorithm? How Does It Work? In this video I drill down into the YouTube Search Algorithm for 2018. What it does and how you can optimise your videos to feed the search results with Video SEO, Metadata and Keyword Tagging.

The YouTube Algorithm controls a lot of what you see in YouTube Search results in 2018. The YouTube search is built on a hidden formula that combines engagement, watch time, video views, share metrics and important data such as titles, descriptions, keyword keyphrase tags, translations and close captions.

Once it has all the data from these areas it then calculate a rank for a video within in search results and that then affects where your videos shows up – Home Page, Suggested Videos, Playlists, Autoplay and more.

Video SEO – YouTube Video Search Engine Optimisation

Video SEO or YouTube Video Search Optimisation is the most important thing about ranking your YouTube Video. YouTube Video SEO tips helps teach YouTube what your video is about and where to rank your video compared to other related videos. YouTube Tips and Video SEO Tips
Sometimes it can be hard to rank organically in search – YIPI shares their 7 most common SEM mistakes.
Video SEO basics are based on 3 core areas.

VIDEO TITLE

Using Video SEO you need to make sure your title includes the keyword(s) you are looking to rank for. For example this video I have optimised for “Video SEO” and so the keywords are at the front of the video title.

VIDEO DESCRIPTION

In Video SEO the description can be one of the most powerful part to help your video rank higher. You are allowed up to 5000 characters in a YouTube Video SEO description. This is very important metadata that YouTube indexes to help understand what the video is about. Make sure to use the keyword you are wishing to rank for as well as relevant and related keywords. This helps YouTube and Google decide how you should rank and what your video is about.

VIDEO TAGS

Video SEO Tags are the baseline for everything previously mentioned. If you distil your Video Title and Video Description into Tags then it ties it all together into a well optimised package. Make sure you use the keywords from the title, the keywords from the description as well as category based tags. For more information of how to tag your video properly why not check out my “3 Levels Of YouTube Tags” video

Video SEO, or Search Engine Optimization for videos on YouTube, is crucial for anyone looking to grow their YouTube channel, especially if you’re new to the platform. Let me explain why it’s important in simple terms:

  1. Visibility: YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world after Google. Millions of people use it to search for content every day. Video SEO helps your videos appear higher in YouTube’s search results, making it easier for people to find your content. When your videos are more visible, you have a better chance of attracting new viewers.
  2. Competition: There’s a lot of content on YouTube, and chances are, there are already videos similar to what you want to create. Video SEO helps you stand out in a crowded field. It’s like putting a spotlight on your video so that it’s more likely to be seen among the sea of other videos.
  3. Audience Growth: When your videos are optimized for search, you’re more likely to attract viewers who are interested in your content. These viewers are more likely to subscribe to your channel and become long-term fans. Video SEO is an essential part of building your audience.
  4. Engagement: YouTube rewards videos that keep viewers engaged. Optimized videos are more likely to be suggested by YouTube’s algorithm to viewers interested in your niche. This can lead to increased watch time, more likes, comments, and shares, all of which can boost your video’s visibility even further.
  5. Monetization: If you’re planning to make money on YouTube through ads, affiliate marketing, or other means, video SEO is critical. Higher visibility leads to more views, which in turn can lead to more revenue.
  6. Long-term Success: Video SEO isn’t just about getting quick views. It’s about building a sustainable presence on YouTube. When you consistently optimize your videos, you’re more likely to see steady growth over time.

To get started with video SEO, consider these basic tips:

  • Keyword Research: Identify relevant keywords that people might use to find your content. Use tools like Google’s Keyword Planner or YouTube’s search suggestions to discover popular search terms.
  • Title Optimization: Craft a compelling and keyword-rich video title that accurately represents your content.
  • Description: Write a detailed video description that includes relevant keywords and provides context about your video.
  • Tags: Add relevant tags (keywords) to your video to help YouTube understand what your content is about.
  • Thumbnail: Create an eye-catching thumbnail that encourages viewers to click on your video.
  • Engagement: Encourage likes, comments, and shares by asking questions or prompting discussions in your video.
  • Consistency: Upload content regularly to keep your audience engaged and coming back for more.

Remember, while video SEO is essential, creating high-quality, engaging content is equally important. SEO can get people to click on your video, but it’s the quality of your content that will keep them watching and coming back for more. So, focus on both aspects to grow your YouTube channel successfully.

4 Tips for Great Content Creation For Blogs and Landing Pages

Content Creation & Getting Results in Search Engines

Not everyone understands the connection between getting results in Google and the art of content creation, its important for you as a website owner understand the two go hand in hand, improving your search engine results and creating great content.

Every website owner knows that good content creation is essential for a successful website. Content entices visitors, drives sales, and enhances the likelihood of your site garnering links. While there are many companies that claim to create good UK content for the landing pages and articles for your business website and blog, not all of them can be trusted to give you the results you desire and a rewarding return on investment.

However, HD1 Web Design focuses on creating content with a purpose, from highly persuasive sales copies to blog articles and content purely made for link purposes.

The process of content creation involves researching the client’s website and the business’ target audience, in order to understand the kind of content that is required, and keep the end user at the forefront of any ideas.

Typical services include copywriting for sales, press releases or ebooks; website content creation for articles, blog posts or product descriptions; link asset creation; and guest blog posts.

Businesses need high quality landing pages and website content to avoid high bounce rates. To achieve this, the website needs to create trust, understanding, and credibility, fast, before the prospective client decides to check out a competitor. Some guidelines for creating great content include:

Include custom infographics or videos for different kinds of visitors

It is important to create an infographic or a video that resonates well with your company’s target audience. Some of the things that HD1 Web Design would consider include: whether your market would prefer an animated explanation or the CEO on camera; or they prefer audio with personality or just someone to state the facts.

By customizing content to a certain type of visitor, you will be addressing the needs and questions of a specific, prospective customer. This is actually why your landing pages exist. The video or infographic should be designed to respond to a visitor’s queries quickly and satisfactorily.

Include one call for action at a time on your website

First time visitors to your site want quick answers, so you need to convey your products, service, benefits of your site, or business ideas within 45-90 seconds of your content. Include only one call for action from your visitors, so it is clear what they are expected to do.

If you give people too many options, they will probably end up not making a decision at all.

See it from the consumer’s perspective

Basically, content creation and creators need to ask themselves how they would rather receive some information from a website: would it be better to read a lengthy chunk of text, bullet point or numbered list, or watch a video?

Videos and lists are easy to break down and grasp. Once you choose a format, you need to determine its length, like a short 2-minute video; 1 minute primer; or a 300, 500 or 700 word article.

Optimize and track analytic data on your Website

Your landing pages and content are probably aimed at lead-generation or sales, so you will want to optimize them for search engines – Back to how do I get better search engine results. There are different SEO strategies for articles and videos, but what is common between them is the need for relevant keywords, and never write content without your client in mind, content for search engines only has very little point to it..

The keywords are determined based on the objective of the marketing campaign or website project. It is also important to look at page analytic’s to see who is viewing your content and how long they stay on a page, in order to adjust the content accordingly.

When creating content, it is important to remain focused on delivering the right content, or else the conversion rates will remain low. Testing different bits of information is slow, so it is best to get it right first time by working with professionals, like HD1 Web Design.
